Shaping the Future of Recreation: Building Tomorrow's Parks Today

The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is developing a Parks and Recreation Masterplan to guide the direction of parks, recreation, and facilities over the next 10 years. The Town has retained the Toronto-based landscape architecture and planning firm thinc design to lead the project.

In the coming weeks, 300 households will receive a call from Oraclepoll Research to participate in a survey regarding use and enjoyment of NOTL's parks and recreation spaces. If you receive a call, please take a few minutes to participate in the survey! If you don’t receive a call and would like to provide your input, you can still complete our online survey below until September 9.

Niagara-on-the-Lake's Parks and Recreation services are loved by residents and visitors alike, offering beautifully maintained green spaces, various recreational activities, and a strong sense of community. Given their significant role in enhancing the quality of life, it is important to develop a comprehensive Parks and Recreation Masterplan to ensure that the Town's parks and recreational facilities continue to meet the evolving needs of the community, fostering a vibrant, healthy, and inclusive environment for generations to come.

Active participation from the community is crucial to the plan’s success, ensuring that it aligns with the values and needs of those who use these spaces. Based on input from the public, the Plan may include revitalized park spaces, enhanced recreational facilities, new program offerings, and more.

We want to hear from you!

All residents are invited to get involved in this exciting initiative and help shape the future of recreation and parks in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Participate by September 9, 2024, in the following ways:

    We want to hear about your thoughts and experiences with parks and recreation in Niagara-on-the-Lake!

    We are interested in your/your household’s use of recreation facilities, parks/open spaces, and trails, participation in programs and activities, and opinions on the need for future services in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

    The survey should take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete, depending on your answers. The findings will only be reported collectively, and your responses will remain confidential.

    We kindly ask that you complete the survey by Monday, September 9, 2024.
