Event Details

The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake partnered with the Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Niagara-on-the-Lake to organize a community-wide winter initiative called "Celebrate the Season."

Celebrate the Season was a local winter event intended to encourage community engagement and inspire creativity as residents and business owners decorate for the Season. This was the first winter-long event designed to highlight the many beautiful landscapes and natural features that Niagara-on-the-Lake has to offer.

Event Details

The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake partnered with the Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Niagara-on-the-Lake to organize a community-wide winter initiative called "Celebrate the Season."

Celebrate the Season was a local winter event intended to encourage community engagement and inspire creativity as residents and business owners decorate for the Season. This was the first winter-long event designed to highlight the many beautiful landscapes and natural features that Niagara-on-the-Lake has to offer.

In keeping with Niagara-on-the-Lake's historic landscape and to achieve a sense of continuity throughout the Town, the theme was a "Victorian Christmas" featuring natural boughs and garlands, burgundy ribbon, and soft white lights. 

Residents and business owners were invited to spread some cheer by posting pictures of themselves and their family members/coworkers decorating for the Season with the hashtag #decoratenotl.

  • The contest is now closed. Communities in Bloom volunteer judges have gone around and chosen winners of the best-decorated homes in Niagara-on-the-Lake! Winners will be announced shortly.

    Holiday Decoration Display Award - Nomination Form

    Nominate a home or business for a Holiday Decoration Display Award! Communities in Bloom volunteer judges will be awarding prizes to the best-decorated homes in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The contest will consider daytime and nighttime decorations and will take place between November 15, 2019, and December 15, 2019. Winners will be announced in local papers. To nominate a location, please fill out a nomination form. You may submit more than one nomination, but please do each submission on a different form.
